Transactional leadership
Transactional leadership is aimed at maintaining the status quo. Declares desirable and undesirable behaviour and motivates employees to meet the defined standards. Transactional leadership is based on rational approach of superiors and subordinates.
In times of change, however, transaction management tools are not sufficient to motivate workers to change.
Transformational leaders work with emotions. They mainly affect people by acting on their feelings. By making changes to the needs of people they initiate changes in the company.
